We’re looking for an assistant editor/content writer to join one of Melbourne’s fastest growing digital agencies.
The successful candidate will work under the Content Manager and will be tasked primarily with writing and editing SEO optimised web content. This role requires excellent writing, editorial and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a team player and a hard worker with a positive attitude. Digital or marketing agency experience would be a bonus but is not essential.
Based from our Melbourne office in South Bank, the position is perfect for someone looking to launch their digital writing/editing career or gain working experience as a writer/editor.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Writing high-quality blog posts and website copy across a broad range of industries
- Editing and proofreading digital content to the highest standards
- Providing constructive feedback to our teams of writers
- Researching and familiarising yourself with client businesses and industries
- Preparing content briefs
- Liaising with writers and account managers to ensure all work is delivered to specification and deadline
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or relevant field
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing for digital channels
- The ability to quickly produce large volumes of high-quality content
- An ability to adapt writing tone and style for different industries and target audiences
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong and flexible editorial skills
- Knowledge or understanding of SEO writing best practice
- Experience with MS Office, Google Analytics, and across social media channels
- Experience with WordPress (knowledge of HTML would be a plus)
